Smiles
From the 12th to the 18th of March we have been blessed by the presence of a youth group from the International Bible College in Kolding, Denmark. It was a group of 6 young people, coming from different countries. They came here to serve others and bring smiles on people's faces because of their love for God.
On the first day after their arrival, we visited orphanages in Jibou and Odorhei. We donated toys, sang, and played games with the children. It was a great joy to see them enjoying all the activities. On Sunday we took the kids on a day out to visit the Botanical garden in Jibou, which has a big walking area. It was a time full of adventures, and the children loved the short trip. In the afternoon, we participated at the program from the Lord's Army church in Jibou. A few from the group praised God with worship songs, and others had testimonies and a drama to encourage the people of the church to seek God in the everyday life, in all our activities, in our ups and downs, as God is seeking to show us His love all the time.
On Monday we drove to Cluj, and in the afternoon we visited a center for teenagers from difficult family background. The mime game was a good icebreaker, as the teens were more opened to what was next. They listened to a very powerful testimony to which many of them could relate, as it was about a broken family, lack of the love of a real father, but what came through was that our Heavenly Father is always there to comfort us, He will never let go of us, He will always be there to hug and comfort us and not let us fall apart. There was a drama with the same message – you will always have a place in God's heart!
And because they wanted to show God's love in a practical way too, we also went to a school for blind children to paint their classroom. Some of the children who are not totally blind were very excited and wanted to help, but it was difficult as they could only see very close to the wall. So, they were satisfied to tell the others who can't see at all about the new clean and colorful classroom.
In the last day of ministry, on Wednesday, we visited the Cluj Penitentiary where we helt two meetings, one with the women and one with the underage. The team had testimonies, songs, dramas, all declaring that God sees each person very valuable and this is why He sent His only Son to die for us, because He loves us. A youth group from the Lord's Army church from Cluj came along to join us in worship!
The team left for Budapest on Thursday morning, not without bringing smiles on children and people's faces. Our prayer is that the smiles will remain as they remember God's love every day!
