 • PROJECTS - Thinking for a change

In 17th of June, 2008 we started together with Gherla Penitentiary the program ”Thinking for a change”. This program has as target group 20 inmate women divide in two groups.
The program ”Thinking for a change” is a psychotherapeutic program created by  Glick, Bush and Tayman from National Institute of Correction in 1997. The philosophy behind this program is cognitive behavioral paradigm. This paradigm claim that our thought, believes and attitude cause our emotions and our behavior. In according to this, the way we perceive and evaluate external situation influence our emotional and behavioral output. The cognitive behavioral paradigm involves teaching the link between thought, emotion and behavior and the way we can change emotion and behavior by changing our thought.

The goals of this program are:

  • Improve cognitive restructuring skills (identifies and change cognition, thought record, accomplish adaptive thought);
  • Improve social skills;
  • Improve problem solving skills.

The program has 24 meetings one’s a week. One meeting is about one hour and a half long.
