Counseling program for inmates with sex abuse penalty in Aiud Prison

Starting with March 2011, Rescue Humanitarian Foundation develop a  group counseling program  for persons from Maximum Security Department from Aiud Prison who commit sexual aggression.
            Sexual abuse and aggression has an huge emotional impact to the victims and marks them to the rest of their life. The theme of sexual abuse is actually do to the fact that in Romania the number of person who commit this act, it remain constant and is also a subject who received small interest from research.
The background of this program is adapted from the SOTP model Sex Offender Treatment Program (Marshall & co. 2001). The aim of the program is to offer support and psychological assistance to the persons who commit sexual abuse in order to reduce the recidivism rate on this penalty but also in general.
            The program is design for ten adult inmates who receive a final conviction for sex abuse. It include individual and group meeting ones a week, lengths appreciatively   6 months depending of each participant’s progress.
