Program design to reduce aggressive behavior in Aiud Penitentiary
Rescue Humanitarian Foundation has held between March-July 2010 in Aiud Penitentiary a program to reduce aggressive behavior. The program starts from the issue of violence in both criminal and performing acts of violence during detention, many people turning to this as one way of solving problems.
Participants of this project are 10 people in maximum security section with greater risk of violence.
Program was design for 14 weekly meetings with each meeting lasting two hours.
Program objectives were to improve the climate in prison by reducing aggressive behaviors in the population share of prisons, changing its behavior towards the development of socially desirable behaviors, providing information about the violent act.
The program is a holistic methods and techniques including cognitive behavioral, existential analysis, transactional analysis, and psychodrama.
At the end of the program participants had a range of information on violence, mechanisms, consequences and ways of expression. They also practiced and developed a series of cognitive behavioral techniques to control their aggression.
The program ended with the delivery of certificate of participation to everyone who completed the program.
