 • Magdalena: Released from shame

“I relieved my soul...” , those were the words of the 26's inmate womens from the Aiud Penitentiary , who were visited by us (Rescue Fundation) with the occasion of 8th March this year too. Ofering a flower, a cake and a juice we tried to create a warm and feminin atmosphere in order to see the movie “Magdalena: Released from shame”.

The fact that the women cried seeing how Jesus was crucified, led us to think about the way the robber form the cross repented from the sins that he made. Some of the womens confessed that they are there because they are diserving it and that their sufferings are not comparable with Jesus suffering.

The movie shows the way Jesus interacted with the women from that periode, all being seen throught the Magdalena's eyes. The moment when the women disregarded by the society (the samaritan woman, the woman with blood bleading, the woman possessed by devil, the illegitimate woman) meet Jesus, He heals them physiquely , but more important He gives them the honour back. His message full of hope and dignity is one that must be heard by any woman from this earth. Throught what He's doing He shows that the bad choises and immoral ones don't diminish at all the intrinsec value of the woman.

He proves that women are not without value, or unworty of His preocupation for their welfare. His interactions with them are as deep as they were in that time. This is the reason why us, RESCUE Fundation and “Alege Viata” Organisation, we choose to present this movie in this place.

We proposed to use this movie in order to help women to realize the fact that they are siners but in the same time they have value in the God's eyes, who planned to save them.

Our desire is that this women change their life accepting Jesus Christ in their hearts and in this way they will influence other women's life throught their testimony. The event organised on the 6th March is a little step but an important one in this direction. The discussions we had after the movie showed us that women undestood the movie's message. It was so great to see this women realizing the power of God to forgive and to change lives. This thing determined one of the women to say that this event relieved her soul.
