Finishing the project”Communication-Education Empowerment Unite Society”
Rescue Foundation has organized on Tuesday 4th of August 2009 the closing event for the Bilateral European Cooperation program for life-long learning called “Communication-Education Empowerment Unite Society”. The festivity was held at Rescue Foundation’s headquarters on 4 Fabricii Street Cluj-Napoca between 11 am and 1pm and at this event took part this project’s beneficiaries (seven beneficiaries) and represenatives of other Romanian NGOs in Cluj-Napoca (Estuar).
At this meeting the beneficiaries were awarded diplomas of exellence for participating in the programme and for the progress accomplished during the programme. Moreover, the beneficiaries talked about their experience in this programme and about the activities and working visits they took part in.
Additionally, we delivered a presentation of the projects, its objectives, the activities that were carried on, the results and the handbook of best practice was distributed to the participants in order to help the local organizations learn from these activities and methods employed.
The “Communication-Education Empowerment Unite Society” is a life-long learning programme intended to adult persons developed in partnership with other two organizations, form Sweden and Lithuania. The purpose of the project is the rehabilitation of socially marginalized persons by making them active citizens fully aware of their civil rights and responsabilities. The hypothesis this project is based on is the fact that people with special needs lacked proper education in order to develop these social abilities. Thus this project aimed at helping them to enhance personal and professional growth.
Among the project’s activities were included trainings for developing social and civic abilities; workshops on decision making issues; seminars on Romania, Swedish and Lithuanian history and traditions; English language courses and computer operating courses; exchange visits to partner organizations. The project’s beneficiaries were 10 persons coming form disadvantaged areas aged between 20 and 40 some of who having mental disorders.
