1st Session- Meetings aimed to inform and to prevent, held in schools and community
- 5 meetings took place in 3 schools from Cluj: The General School “Gheorghe Sincai” in Floresti, The Special School Resources Center and Documentation concerning inclusive/ integrated Education, Cluj-Napoca and Special School for hearing deficiency. At these meetings 125 students between the ages of 12 and 19 years participated. A few movies about the diseases caused by smoking had been displayed. These movies had a great impact on the students who didn't know how dangerous was to smoke.
 There were also contradictory opinions, some of them saying that they would never get those diseases and that they could quit smoking whenever they wanted. But they were told that tobacco is a noxious substance too and it is addictive. One of the character in one of the movies displayed, who was very sick because of consuming tobacco, said: “To quit smoking is difficult, but not quiting may be much more difficult”.
 - 5 other meetings took place in communities: Aiud Penitentiary, roma community from Floresti, community from Sanicoara and Prison Fellowship. At this meetings, children and parents participated as well. The same material and the same movies had been displayed, and again the impact was great. T his time, it had been discussed the responsibility of parents over their children, concerning smoking. The way we live our own lives influence in good or in bad the persons that live next to us.So, everyone of us is responsible in a way for our neighbor's behavior. To those who believed that smoking is cool, it had been told: “Be strong, don't smoke!”
On the occasion of these meetings promotional material had been distributed (trinkets, bracelets, pens, frisbees, balls, neckstraps) on which was written “ For a life without tobacco” and www.helo-eu.com.
