Saturday, the 17th of March Rescue Foundation together with our guests from Denmark, Thorkil Jorgensen- the leader of the team, Jens Peder Peterson, Kim Petersen and Hans Jacob Johannes A Lava, organized a youth meeting for the youth in Cluj’s churches. The theme of the meetings was “Is God just or unjust?”
The purpose of the meeting was to learn to see God’s hand in all the experiences we live in our life, especially in suffering. Jens Peder Peterson shared a few personal experiences about himself being in difficulty. He could not understand why God allowed him in those situations at that time, but later on he found the meaning of the experiences and understood that it was according to God’s plan. The message was to trust God every moment, especially in the hard ones, because God works in ways that are hard to understand for men. Men’s mind is too limited to understand and see God’s plans.
Kim Petersen had a very strong personal testimony. He talked about a period of time in his life, over 20 years, when he was drug addicted. He was searching for something special to fulfill his life and for a short while he found his fulfillment in drugs. Every time his body got used to the effect of the drug he was looking for a new drug, to produce new experiences to him. He lost everything, he lived on the street and he started to be involved in drug dealing to have money for buying drugs. He was hospitalized several times in center for addiction but each time he came back to drugs. One time when he was hospitalized he heard about God. After a while, some of his friends were dyeing on the street and he decided to change his life. God changed his life totally. He had nothing and now he has a wife, a family, a place to live. God worked in a great way in his life.
Hans Jacob Johannes A Lava is the leader of the praise and worship team in one of the churches in Denmark. His contribution to the Saturday meeting was wonderful through the songs he sang with the group of youth and through the joy be brought in our hearts by praising God together as brothers.
The meeting’s purpose was to encourage youth especially in difficult moments, to be patient to see how God works in their life. |
