Exchange visit in Denmark’s prison
Between 12th to 23rd May a group of eight specialists from Aiud Prison led by the director Valentin Nazare and Rescue Humanitarian Foundation’s director, Cosmin Giurgiu have participated in an exchange of experience in Denmark during which we visited four prisons and a courthouse.
During the visit, we get in contact contact and were informed about the Danish prison system: different regimes for enforcement, alternative punishments, administrative and organizational aspects of the prison. We had the opportunity to see live the organization and functioning of the close prison regime and the regime locked open.
We can conclude that this visit was very useful both for our foundation and Aiud prison staff. Base on the exchange visit and following a comparative analysis between the Romanian prison system and Danish prison system we can bring some improvement in safety Romanian ownership, education and inmates reintegration, improving condition of detention and work
During this visit we also had an unexpected surprise. We were welcomed by Mayor of Kolding city in an official ceremony of intercultural exchange.
